About the MacValley Resource Person's List
Who are Resource Persons?
- Resource Persons are a group of stalwart MacValley members who have offered their valuable free time to help the membership get the most out of their Macintosh computer.
- Please call only from the current list (check the date at the bottom of this page). All information is subject to change.

- People who can help are listed with hours they can be contacted. Please respect these hours.
- If no phone number is listed, they provide help only via email.
- Many resource people provide help via email. Include MacValley or Resource Person in the subject line so they donšt delete your message as spam.
- If they are proficient in a particular program it will be listed beside their names. If nothing is listed, call about anything in that category.
- If you get their machine, please let them know that they can call you back collect.
- If you have left a message and get your question answered elsewhere, be sure to call back and let them know.

Statement of Policy 2
- The following are rules of conduct for the persons who list themselves on the RPL. The MacValley RPL is a free service to MacValley members.
- The intention of these rules is to prohibit the use of the Resource Persons List purely for economic gain while not becoming unduly restrictive.
- A Resource Person may mention payment for services only under one or more of the following conditions:
- The caller mentions payment first.
- The call has already used more than 30 minutes on the phone.
- Solving the problem clearly requires travel.
- Solving the problem clearly requires hardware or commercial software rather than merely advice.
- Resource Persons may not take down a personšs phone number, name or address for use in any commercial solicitation by phone or by mail without the personšs explicit permission to do so. They may, however, ask for information to verify membership in MacValley and refuse service to any person who cannot provide it.
- No individuals may represent themselves as being "MacValley Experts," other than elected Board members, or those specifically designated by them; no individuals may represent themselves as being endorsed by or representing MacValley in any way.
- Resource Persons must be uniformly courteous to callers.
- Resource Persons are not required to help at any given time and may politely refuse any calls that they find inconvenient or would prefer not to handle.
- Resource Persons violating these policies will be removed from the RPL and may be subject to further action.
- If you encounter anyone who violates these rules please contact MacValley President Lynn Lanning, 818-242-2189.
